Our mission
Black Manta Kayak Club exists to facilitate the call to adventure. We provide everything needed to explore the beautiful waterways of northwest Florida, in a safe, fun and educational outing. Kayaking is the purest way to enjoy nature on the water, no motor noise, no traffic, just you, your paddle and your sense of adventure. When we embrace a physical challenge together as a unit we awaken an inherent human quality that is not valued in the modern world—the tribal connection. Forget the politics, forget social classes, forget work stresses and just be in the moment with others who share the goal of enjoying being alive and making memories. Every trip is unique, we always try to spot wildlife, and share information drawing on backgrounds in wildlife biology and historical human land use. We run our business with sustainability and responsible stewardship at the forefront; we strive to make an impact on our guests while leaving none on the environment. Kayaking with Black Manta Kayak Club’s professional guides, you can be assured a great day on the water and to return revitalized and inspired.
the Team
Clayton Addison
Clayton began his kayaking journey twenty years ago on a two week kayaking trip in the Sea of Cortez. Since then, kayaking has been a major part of his life providing a platform for freediving, SCUBA diving, camping, photography and exploration across the waterways of California, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Louisiana and now Florida. Upon receiving a Bachelors of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona, he embarked on a career spanning scientific research, education, government service and ecotourism.
A life long interest in primitive/survival skills and a growing knowledge of botany and wildlife, kayaking with Clayton is never a dull moment. Beware, he is a professional splash artist. Before arriving in Florida to found Black Manta Kayak Club, he spent four years as a professional kayak guide on the Colorado River.
Madison Wilmoth
Madison is a born and raised native of the Pacific Northwest, from a young age, she embraced an active lifestyle, engaging in a variety of hobbies, including kayaking on rivers and lakes, hiking majestic mountains, and participating in dance and gymnastics.
After 25 years of rain-soaked seasons, Madison made a decision to relocate to Las Vegas, Nevada. She became a kayak guide which brought unexpected joy and fulfillment. The role kept her active, challenged her in new ways, and allowed her to work daily along the scenic Colorado River while connecting with people from all corners of the globe. She teamed up with Clayton to establish Black Manta Kayak Club in 2025.
